Abutted by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Gulf of Mexico to the East, Mexico is a diverse country that supports large honey exports and a vast array of honey varietals. Honey production ranges from unique botanical flowers in the subtropical highlands of Oaxaca, down to the tropical lowlands and coastal areas of Veracruz. Many producers come from generations of beekeepers, including descendants of the Maya people that often work with native Mexican melipona, stingless bees.
